Violent Incident at Caserta Town Hall
Employee Attempts Assault with Knife
Moments of panic today, May 17, at the Town Hall of Caserta. A staff member attempted to assault the manager responsible for personnel matters. Armed with a knife, the man tried to break into the manager’s office on the third floor of the Town Hall in Piazza Vanvitelli. Only the victim’s quick reaction prevented a worse outcome. The manager managed to close the door in time, while the aggressor vented his anger by kicking the door and wielding the knife before fleeing. Terrified, the other employees barricaded themselves in their offices.
The police later apprehended the aggressor in Piazza Mercato, just a few hundred meters from the Town Hall. Upon searching him, they found a knife and a pair of scissors. He was taken to the police station for questioning.
